Other common symptoms include feeling tender, especially in the shoulders and neck, as well as the head and face.
Unlike migraines, these headaches tend to last for no longer than a day. You might experience them for just a half-hour or so or you might have a tension headache for a good several hours. However, over-the-counter painkillers usually can reduce the symptoms associated with these headaches.
Other Kinds Of Headaches
Cluster headaches are less common, but they happen frequently when you have then. People tend to experience a burning sensation behind their eye or both eyes. Some symptoms include a swollen eyelid or watering eye. Other symptoms include being restless or having sensitivity to light.
Exertional headaches are headaches that occur due to physical exercise. There are several things that can trigger these headaches and this includes jumping or running. Other activities include sexual intercourse or bouts of sneezing. Unlike the previously discussed headaches, they tend to last for a very short period of time, but sometimes they can last a couple of days.
Hypnic headaches are very rare and they tend to affect those who are in the 50s, but people younger might experience them too. Sometimes people are woken up at night due to the severity of these headaches. It can cause pain on both sides of your head and they can last for a few hours. Other common symptoms associated with it include feeling sick and being sensitive to sounds and lights.
